ABOUT
YOGA TEACHER
I am an RYT 200 certified yoga instructor with additional certifications in Therapeutic and Restorative Yoga with Jillian Pransky (100 hours) and Chakra Yoga with Anodea Judith. I lead group classes and workshops in the Fairfield County area, primarily Vinyasa, Yin & Restorative, as well as private sessions for corporate clients and individuals.
HEALTH COACH
I obtained my health coach certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN) in New York City, the world’s largest nutrition school in the world. I was taught by many of today’s leading physicians, researchers and nutrition experts such as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra and Dr. Mark Hyman to name a few. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in over 100 dietary theories, holistic coaching techniques and most importantly, that health goes beyond the plate. This is a concept called “postmodern nutrition” which asserts that relationships, career, spiritual practice and exercise are connected to your nutrition and physical well-being.
Combining my love and knowledge in yoga, meditation, holistic health and nutrition, I aim to provide my clients with unique programs that energize the body, calm the mind and elevate the spirit.
HOW I GOT HERE
I grew up physically active as a competitive gymnast, dancer and cross-country / marathon runner… movement was my sanity, my safe space. I went to college, got a job in finance, and became a corporate executive. As my career grew, I was personally running myself into the ground. I sacrificed my health & happiness for promotions & praise. I was anxious, sleep-deprived and a workaholic (and a shopaholic if I’m being honest). I developed chronic back pain from my sedentary lifestyle, AND I was not a very fun person to be around (my husband shakes his head YES as he reads this!). Something had to give…
So, I started yoga… the practice supported my need for movement, strength, creativity and growth. As I began to feel better and my practice evolved, I began to evolve. I started meditating, eating properly, practicing self-care & connecting more deeply with the world around me. The cycle had been broken…
I have been fortunate to be able to transition from a life I merely survived into a life where I absolutely thrive. My hope is that I can use my life experiences and training to guide others to a more empowered and vibrant way of life (aka The Good Life) on the journey to Rediscover Wellness.
